What is Karate
Kidz?
The Karate Kidz Program was designed specially for children ages 7 - 9 years old. We realize that children this age have specific
characteristics that differ from children younger and older than them. They are
sharper and more focused than children 6 and under, however, they are still not
quite ready to face the same challenges presented to children 10 to 12-years of
age. Although some children between the ages of 7 - 9 can keep up with older
children, and in some cases surpass them, the average 7 - 9 year old can
benefit from a more specific type of training that will help them develop the
best; physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.
Why is Karate Kidz More Beneficial
Than Traditional Martial Arts Training?
Children’s learning curves increase when they are separated by age groups. That is why the Karate Kidz Program is so effective. We’ve discovered that the majority of students ages 7 - 9 are still not quite ready for the extreme physical, mental, social and emotional challenges that are faced in a traditional martial arts program. Before, this was just a concept that reasonably applied to 5 & 6-year olds. But recent studies have shown that 7 - 9-year olds have distinct characteristics in their stage of development that vary from the 10 to 12-year old stage.
In the Karate Kidz Program, your child will learn and grow in a process
that accommodates their skills and abilities. They will train with other
children in their age group and not have to be distracted by younger or older
classmates. This means that their training will not be slowed down due to the
learning abilities of a younger child and it will not be sped up to keep up
with the capabilities of a pre-teen. This means better, more functional classes
designed just for them. Your child will feel comfortable and more capable of
achieving excellence.
Our Karate Kidz Program:
develops a child’s social skills through positive interaction with children their own age
develops discipline and encourages good behavior skills thereby setting a good example for others
builds Concentration, Courage, Fitness and Character
is a year-long extra-curricular activity
increases a child’s ability to overcome their fears through the Karate Kidz skill of Courage
builds a child’s confidence though achieving goals and improving their skills
provides a daily reward system and regular belt promotions that teaches goal-setting
improves each Karate Kidz skill in every class with visible improvement
increases a child's ability to excel in school by developing their Concentration skills and Perseverance
Do
all of these benefits sound good? Do they seem possible? Did you know that by
enrolling your child into our Karate Kidz Program, you will be reinforcing all
of these scenarios through martial arts training? Do you want to know how we are
going to do it?
